Step into a bold new era of women's healthcare! This session empowers women to advocate for themselves and for women's health more broadly. You'll explore the shocking history of women's healthcare, understand the gaps that have long existed, and discover why now is one of the most exciting times for innovation and progress. Business leaders and healthcare consumers alike will gain practical insights into how health plans and policy shape outcomes—and how you can take action today. Takeaways: Marjorie was the Director of Oklahoma State University’s Center for Health Systems Innovation for eleven years (2014-2025). She led her team in tackling our biggest healthcare challenges such as access to care in rural areas, mental healthcare, smoking cessation, patient engagement, the nursing shortage, hospital safety, care efficiency, poor outcomes, and ER crowding. Marjorie’s solutions have been published by leading healthcare organizations such as the American Medical Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges. Prior to joining CHSI in 2014, she worked in the healthcare industry for 20 years, starting as a marriage and family therapist until embracing the business side of healthcare wherein she lead business development teams, negotiated insurance contracts, created provider networks, consulted and more. She has worked for large pharmaceutical companies and small start-ups. During those 20 years, she launched some of Oklahoma’s first integrated mental healthcare and telehealth programs. She continues to create novel access to mental healthcare. Her new new targets are some of the largest gaps in healthcare - women’s health and mental wellbeing. Both of these have been on the decline in the United States. She has a mission to inspire people to advocate for equity, to support innovation and to take bold, empowered actions for their own health. Thank you to our sponsors!
